Finalists of national selection round for 2009' Eurovision Junior Song Contest named On June 1, the International Children's Protection Day, the finalists of the Song for Eurovision, a national selection round for Eurovision Junior Song Contest in Belarus, were named on the First TV Channel and the international satellite channel Belarus'TV.

19 performers took part in the semifinal. The jury headed by national artist Vasily Rainchik decided to select the following 10 songs:
1.Magammed Aslanov "Tick-Tick" (Grodno)
2. Diana Gromova "Hey, Boys and Girls" (Gomel)
3. Band "Roki" (Roman Voloznev and Kirill Yermakov) "Only Ahead!" (Minsk)
4. Diana Guzino "I dream of Flying" (Grodno)
5. Yury Demidovich ("Magic Rabbit") (Minsk)
6. Polina Klishkova "Following a Star" (Mogilev)
7. Zlata Larchenko "Baba Yaga 2009" (Stankovo, Dzerzhinsk)
8. Yekaterina Mezhennaya "Only Love" (Minsk)
9. Yekaterina Murashko "Birthday" (Mogilev)
10. Darya Shulgina "Fiery Notes" (Grodno)

The contest's final will take place in September 2009 in the form of a gala. The winner will be decided through audience's telephone voting and by the professional jury.

Belarus to host Junior Eurovision 2010



The corresponding decision was endorsed by the European Broadcasting Union in Geneva. Belteleradiocompany took a lead over Maltese television and TV channel "Russia" in the contest of pretenders. According to the administration of the union, Belarus made a more thorough preparation. They specified all the excursions including visits to the Belarusian father Frost and Belarusian Circus. Everything including the design of the scene and menu for hundreds of performers was already planned. All guest of Junior Eurovision will receive free visas right at the airport. The show will take place in new hall Minsk Arena on November 20, 2010. The motto of the new contest is "Feel the Magic".
